Cathryn Neuhauser grew up in Warwickshire and began playing the violin at the age of five. She studied at Trinity College of Music, London, where she was taught by Gillian Findlay and John Crawford. After being awarded the John Barbirolli prize, she went on to graduate with a BMus in performance.
Alongside working as a freelance orchestral musician, Cathryn has been the first violin in her string quartet for the last 20 years, performing across the UK and Europe.
Cathryn was the solo violinist in the touring production of the musical Chicago, travelling worldwide, whilst also performing regularly in London’s West End.
As a committed music educator, Cathryn believes in the huge value of instrumental teaching and ensemble experience. She teaches locally and enjoys seeing the difference that music makes to her pupils.
Cathryn lives in St Neots, with her husband and two children, James and Beth, and has been the Leader of Hunts Phil since 2014.
