Leanne Singh-Levett accompanies our choir at all rehearsals and in March 2023 stepped in at short notice to conduct Hunts Phil’s performance of Brahms’s Ein Deutsches Requiem! She was Music Staff Fellow at English National Opera (2022/23) and subsequently Chief Répétiteur for Opera North’s acclaimed Requiem project (May 2023). She returned to ENO in Autumn 2023 to work on Peter Grimes with Martyn Brabbins (off-stage conducting) and in Spring 2024 she will be joining the music staff team at the Royal Opera for a new production of Carmen.

Leanne was Chorusmaster for Le nozze di Figaro at the Royal College of Music, directed by Sir Thomas Allen and conducted by Michael Rosewell (Autumn 2018). She then prepared the chorus at RCM for Offenbach’s Robinson Crusoé, and for Holst’s The Planets in the Queen Elizabeth Hall with Andrew Gourlay (July 2019). Leanne has worked at the RCM for many years accompanying song classes, opera and language coachings. She was also a staff member of the Junior Department, coaching chamber music and playing for singers and choirs.

Leanne has coached the Jette Parker Young Artists at the Royal Opera, and collaborated in concert with singers including Mary Bevan, Marcus Farnsworth, David Butt Philip and Lauren Fagan. She has accompanied choirs including Kingston Choral Society and Imperial Male Voice Choir, touring with the latter to France, Germany, Russia and Ireland.

​Since moving to Cambridgeshire in 2021 Leanne is enjoying her engagement with local music-making. In addition to her commitments to Huntingdonshire Philharmonic, Leanne was also appointed Musical Director of Huntingdon Male Voice Choir in 2023.

Leanne is a regular staff pianist at Oxenfoord International Summer School.
